Remember every professional was once a beginner!
- Firstly, make sure you find the right teacher who makes you feel comfortable and supported. A welcoming and encouraging environment is key to enjoying the experience.
- Secondly, don't be shy reach out to the studio and see which class they suggest you to attend to as your first class. Though they may have a Beginner class on their schedule after speaking with you they may decide to offer you to try another class that's more suitable.
- Lastly, Remember to take it slow and be patient with yourself; progress takes time and practice. Embrace the process, stay positive, and most importantly, have fun!
WHAT TO WEAR
- Be sure to wear a sports bra and shorts. The shorter the better. The more skin that you have on show the easier it will be for you to grip onto the pole.
- Do not apply any moisturizer to your skin or hands 12 hours prior to your class. Moisturizer can make you slippery on the pole, compromising your grip.
- Barefoot. Shoes are not necessary when pole dancing as you'll need to grip to the pole. Barefoot allows for better grip. You may wear socks throughout the class however if theres a move that requires your foot to grip you may have to take your sock off.
- Consider layers: If you're uncomfortable showing too much skin, you can layer with leggings or a lightweight top that you can remove once you warm up.
